57 stone is an aggregate material suitable for driveways, parking lots, construction site entrances, and pipe bedding among other things. The specifications are 1″ minus with very little powder. Generally #57 gravel is processed from concrete or Florida limerock. Granite is typically used when the application calls for a decorative stone.
Concrete #57 stone (pictured below) is usually the most economical option as it is a recycled material made from crushing up demolished concrete structures and pads.
For those customers that prefer a natural fifty seven stone, limerock is a viable alternative. This stone is native to Florida and is a requirement if your stone needs to be FDOT certified. FDOT will not certify crushed concrete 57 rock.
